I’ll Blame You

we dine on stale flesh of cold desire

drinking thin bodied

watered down wine of

sitting in grey studio apartments overlooking

a world

which looks down on us

looking up with hope

gazing to the future

stuck in a present

which longs for a past

which never existed

i wear the rose tinted shades of a man with no opportunities

finding comfort in skewed memories and bold faced lies

i lost my voice in the echo chamber of other people’s ideologies

waiting in silence for a turn that may not be had

i am bitter with silent rage

an adolescent angst

i fear what is to come

doubt my capabilities

so i’ll blame you
